Ashley Said:

Where should you play if you want soccer college scouts to watch you?

We Answered:

Your best chance would be club, because then you might play at a big soccer tournament. The tournaments held across the nation during club seasons are where the scouts usually go to find talent.

Which High School To Pick?

We Answered:

Primarily it will be your academic success that gets you into college. Unless you are really considering Ivy League schools, I would not concern myself to much about which school to go to. I did not have a choice of where I went to school, and it definitely was not one of the best in our county, yet there were still people in my school accepted to Harvard and Yale last year. I would choose somewhere that you would enjoy the next four years.

Transferring High school. Confusing.?

We Answered:

Annandale should let you in if you transfer there, but if your mother doesn't want you to, respect her choice.

Finding good jobs and internships straight out of high school?

We Answered:

Most internships are for college students who are established in their field of study and within 1 or 2 years of graduating. Some internships (mainly government) are available for younger college students or recent HS grads, but they're very competitive. Your best bet would be to ask around and network with adults you already know, to see if anyone knows of something.

There are lots of good paying jobs that you don't need a college degree for, but they're hard work (construction,etc.). If you're looking for more of a business-type job, again you don't neccessarily need a degree, but you will have to start at the lowest positions (salesperson, bank teller, secretary) and work your way up to a more managerial role by proving you understand the company and can handle the responsibility. A lot of these companies may even pay for you to take college classes that relate to their business, so it would be a way to get all or most of your college tuition paid for while you work. So, when you graduate you'd have a degree and years of work experience. Large banks and other businesses will often do this.

Still, as someone mentioned, a college degree is really the standard for almost any professional job. Even more than that, I think the trend now is moving towards specialized college degrees. In other words, liberal arts degrees (english, history, psychology, sociology, women's studies, etc.) are becoming more and more worthless compared to a science, engineering, or even a business degree. This is because the 2nd group already has knowledge in a specific area of the company's operations, so these people can jump right with much less difficulty and require less training.
