Wallace Said:

australia High School education?

We Answered:

I dont think its relevant. In Australia, to get into university - the entry is primarily the score you get in your final exams (which everyone studying Physics sits for the same exam at the same time in the state). Only those trying to get into Art, Music, Drama have to pass an audition as well.

The American system of scoring in high school is not relevant in Australia

Ann Said:

If I attend high school in Australia Can I Attend University Overseas, England to be specific? HELP!?

We Answered:

G'day,

I would suggest that you take an IB (International Baccalaureate) diploma program. This is an international high-school diploma that recognised by universities all over the world. There are some schools in Australia offering the program.

Please visit www.ib.org for more info abt the program and schools.

Hope this helps. Good luck for your study :)

Marjorie Said:

what is the main subject teached at a high school at australia? also at what age do you go to high school?

We Answered:

The main subjects are i think like any other country, Maths, Geography, Science, English, Physical Education, History, Art, Music then you have elective subjects that you choose from like languages. But depending on your age because some of the subjects listed as main subjects change to elective subjects when you reach 9th grade. Elective subjects means you get to choose if you want to do them. From what i remember they were history (ancient/modern), sciences, geography, languages, music, art. High school starts at the 7th grade which is when you´re about 12 or 13. Hopefully you decide to do it, my best friend came from Korea and she loved studying in Australia because it´s a totally different life but also strangely familiar. A weird mix of USA and English culture.

Allan Said:

Does anyone have information about support for international student in high school in Australia?

We Answered:

Some of the private schools have scholarships (for which there is an exam taken usually at the end of the previous year) - I dont know if you can sit for those outside the country. Other scholarships are for children of prior students, and country students.

Scholarships for overseas students with no Australian ties are "well I've never heard of them"

Vera Said:

I want to move to Australia after high school. Can someone help me with the details?

We Answered:

everyone seems to be ditching their countries and coming to australia :)

1. life is pretty easy here.. everything is available to you. medicare (free healthcare), free education, public transport, cultural places, multicultural (what i love about sydney) umm... great shopping and fun places to go, things to see. its fun!

2. generally the western suburbs of each city is cheaper because they are inland.. esp. in sydney. western suburbs are far cheaper for housing and shopping then it is in the city or "richer" suburbs near the ocean... but all in all everything is at a good price.

3. we use the australia dollar.. we have coins in 5cents, 10cents, 20cents, 50cents, 1 dollar, 2 dollar, 5 dollar notes, 10 dollar notes, 20 dollar notes, 50 dollar notes and 100 dollar notes. you can also occasionaly find the new zealand 20c or 10c coin lol

4. usually the universities with the city names are the regarded as the best in that area, i.e: uni of sydney, uni of melbourne, uni of brisbane, uni of adelaide, uni of tasmania, uni of perth, uni of canberra.. but im not sure is theres a uni of darwin lol
colleges are called universities in australia..

5. i would recommend absolutely any city. when i finish high school in 2010 i might go uni of adelaide because im not really fond of the unis in sydney (where i am). im not sure yet but if i stay in sydney i would go to uniof NSW or uni of technology sydney or uni of sydney..depending on my course.. i have 2 years to decide !

you said your not a good researcher but go to wikipedia and look up universities in sydney or melbourne or universities in australia and have you read for your self.. it really depends on your likes :)

good luck
