When i was a freshman (9th grade) i did the same thing as you. It started to really annoy me so i ask my mom if i can talk to a counselor to see what was wrong with me. After i would talk to her about whatever i had to say i would do my homework and i got done so quickly. I just needed to clear my head before i started to do anything. Try to talk or write down whatever you can think of before you do the work. Maybe that would help. My little brother kinda does the same thing but is worst for him, he has mild ADD.

As Lemon suggest getting tested for ADD,i do too as well.

Maybe the 3.5 hours you spent studying was not enough. Maybe the quiz happened to be on the material you didn't understand. Try to make sure you understand all the material in each class. Study with a friend that is a good student. I hope things will improve. Best Wishes for the future.

That's exactly what you're doing. You're your own worst enemy. You think it's hard, so you've programmed your mind to not even try.

Everything is Mind. If you're convinced that college is too hard, then you are defeating yourself. Take some time away from the books and try to get back inside your head and reprogram yourself with some positive feedback. And believe it. If anyone else can do it, and you used to do it, you can succeed.
