What schools did Brooke Shields attend?

We Answered:

Brooke Shields:
High School: Dwight Englewood High School, Englewood, NJ (1982)
University: BA French Literature, Princeton University (1987)

Smart girl. And, apparently, she got around.

She did attend the same high school as Mira Sorvino but Mira attended 4 years after Brooke.

Mira Sorvino:
High School: Dwight Englewood High School, Englewood, NJ (1986)
University: BA East Asian Studies, Harvard University (1990)

Tony Said:

If you grew up in Chicago, what high school did you attend? I went to Englewood High from?

We Answered:

My husband went to New Trier High School in Winnetka. He was lucky because it is a great school. He graduated in 1960. Even to this day, it is always listed in the top 10 high schools in the United States. I think 93% of the students go on to higher education. It may be less than that, but it is in the 90th percentile.

Alex Said:

Was Dewright Marrow High School in Englewood, NJ a bad school back in the 90s? What was the school reputation?

We Answered:

Having lived in Bergen County my entire fifty-five year life, I can tell you that Dwight Morrow was never a, "bad," school. It became newsworthy, from time to time, because of the economic diversity of Englewood whcih for decades have run along the color line.
More and more whites left the public school system for private schools. This resulted in Dwight Morrow becoming over 95% Black and Hispanic. There were a couple of plans suggested to the State Department of Education to help have the school reflect the racial make-up of the town, but none were accepted. In the mid-nineties, a guy named Harry Galinsky, former Superintendent of paramus, suggested that Bergen Tech School District introduce the Academy Program there as well as at their main campus in Hackensack.
The plan brought a more racial balance to the CAMPUS, but not to either the academy (mostly white) or to Dwight Morrow (remaining mostly Black and Hispanic.
Through World War II and into the early sixties, before the exodus of whites, it was a fine school. Dwight Morrow is a fine school today, as well.
