Florida High School

Toni Said:

What is the best preparation to teach social science in a Florida high school?

We Answered:

Try to get some tutoring experience under your belt. Also, you may have to try to fit those education courses in if you want to present yourself as a better candidate.

Unlike some of the Answerers here have said, if your advisor is not in the education department, which given your history/psychology majors isn't too likely, they might not be the best people to ask about qualifications. Try talking to a career services counselor on campus or set up a meeting with an education professor.

Lovely2419's response was especially lacking in compassion. Teaching is a noble profession and your question shows your determination to do well in the field (by making yourself a strong candidate for the position).

How are the florida high school football classes and districts determined?

We Answered:

The Florida High School Athletics/Activities Association (FHSAA) ranks its member schools according to enrollment size every two years from 6A to 1B in football and then, starting in the Panhandle and working South, places the member schools in their respective districts, of which there are 16 in each class except in 2A, 2B, 1A, and 1B. They try to group the schools as close together as possible for ease of travel. This can be difficult as there are a lot more 6A schools in South Florida than there are in the northern part of the state. Some of the Miami schools have over 5,000 students. By the same token you will find more small schools in the North.

Public and Private schools have no separate status in Florida. They all play for the same marbles in their respective classifications.

A sidebar: There are over 600 member schools, not all field football teams, but those that do almost always have at least one stud kid capable of playing college ball. The amount of talent is mind-boggling. UofF, FSU, Miami, and the others can usually only sign about 25 in any given year. It's open season for the rest though several feel that going to class is a burden and still more that think that the law doesn't apply to them.

In a Florida High School men's basketball game, how many technical fouls does it take to be ejected?

We Answered:

I don't see why it wouldn't be two. True, lots of rules differ from high school, to college, to nba, but I don't think this rule differs.

How many credits does a Florida High School student need to graduate?

We Answered:

I live in IL. And home schooled student can get their high school diploma. I would check into that. I don't' see any reason why you could not get a HS diploma

Each school district has its own rule and requirements. check with the school district you live in. Or just call up the high school you would go to.
