Honestly, if your between the ages of 17 and 21, a school near you may allow you to take evening classes to get a high school Diploma within about a year. After all, a Diploma is a lot better than a G.E.D. and you will be more likely to find a better, higher paying job.

You can also go to a library or college near you, they will most likely have GED testing there for about $20 and in Missouri most classes are free.

A GED only lessens your chances of getting into a 4 year college. But it isn't a big problem. I myself, acquired my own GED. I had attended a communtiy college, and THEN I transferred to a 4 year college afterwords.

A GED stands for General Educational Development, or in this case a "Good-Enough-Diploma". There is nothing wrong with getting a GED.

However, you're still in high school, and you have very good grades. Why would you want to drop out for such an insane reason? Its your last year, just deal with it, you will make it through.

Besides, if you were to drop out of High School and go for your GED, it would cause many problems. When I dropped out at my senior year, I had to wait for my H.S class to graduate before I could take the test, because I hadn't been out of school for more than a year.

I had to wait about, 8 months to take the test in August. I got my results and diploma in September.
