What are good tips for a beginner in high school baseball?

We Answered:

u gotta be aware. KNOW THE SITUATION!! : how many outs, runners, is there a chance of a bunt?, try to steal the other teams signs. make sure u know this and you wont look stupid haha. improve coordination and fielding mechanics. ahh, mechanics mechanics mechanics. hitting bunting fielding throwing. its a lot but high school is a high level. im playing jv or freshman( as a freshman) this year. ive been playing for a long time. i played at a high school level last year. so, i lknow its a lot but just concentrate on what youre not good at. concentrate on infield or outfield or pitching. catching get complicated and isnt really for beginners. im not saying dont do it, but theres a lot more awareness u need. i hope that i helped.

What do high school baseball coaches look for?

We Answered:

really it all depends on the coach.

a good coach will look for a guy with potential and a guy who is coachable...and they look for talent as well, basically if you can hit you will play, they will find a spot for you if you can hit.

im the varsity catcher on my high school team and i have been since i was a freshman (im now a junior this year).

i like to watch what my coach watches for and i try to become that so i dont lose my starting spot.

All and all, if you can hit, you will play...lol

What kind of baseballs are legal in Illinois high school baseball?

We Answered:

If you are playing under NFHS (National Federation of High School Associations) you can't use a Major League ball.

The second answer kinda sucks also, it was reported as spam.

I'm pretty sure Illinois plays "Fed" ball. If so, the balls must have a NFHS approval stamprd on the ball.

There are size standards and COR standards, and a paragraph worth of description in the rule book, but I (and I am a certified official) just need to see the NFHS mark on the ball for it to be legal.

http://www.nfhs.org/custom/amark/Default…

has all the details you need, and a list of manufacturers who can provide legal balls.

How does high school baseball work?

We Answered:

You go to a ball field. Hit a ball run and around the bases. Then go home.
