High School Basketball
Leslie Said:
What are the average high school basketball requirements? We Answered:
In Nebraska it is different in every school. In my school you have to pass 3 out of the 4 core classes the year before to be elgible, and during the season you can only be failing one class. If you fail two you will sit out until you raise one of the grades. Age isn't a big factore for us, we just have to be in 9th -12th grade and four years max. You can't fail your junior year and play that year come back the next and redo your junior and expect to play as a senior.Michele Said:
How many calories should a high school basketball player consume per day?We Answered:
3-5k make sure you eat a lot of protein as well. your weight * .5 = how much grams of protein you should eat a day. Caloric intake depends on how much work you do that day. On a high stress day take in about 5kAmanda, you make no sense what so ever. You need to consume more calories when active and less when not, not the opposite, and 2500 is the amount for an average person not an athlete stop speaking out of your ***.

What happens in high school basketball tryouts? We Answered:
fundamentals...conditioning is very important.
dont show boat, its not And1.
if you got game like you lead on, dont sweat it you'll do great.
this is what i would do...
pay attention to the coach, he needs to know that you are listening. be 1st, in line, in the huddle, to do exercises.... FOCUS.
be quiet, until its time to be heard, then be loud. show leadership qualities... ie. verbal support to teammates, pick your teammates up when they are down.. even the dorkiest, no talent having, annoying Muthaf--er. thats what team is all about.
always be you, have confidence.
goodluck

How do I earn a girls college basketball scholarship from high school? We Answered:
You should use this summer to work on your weaknesses, where it be defense, rebounding, or shooting. If you improve your weakness from last season and maintain your strengths, you will have the total package of the game. This summer you should also participate in AAU (Amateur Athletic Union)basketball as well as a few summer camps to get your name out there. AAU players are highly recruited by big-time state schools, such as Tennessee, LSU, and UNC.As far as stats go, it depends on your position. All college recruiters want scorers, but you have to bring something else to the table. Point guards bring assists and/or steals. Forwards rebounds and centers rebounds and blocks.
Talk to your HS coach too. He/she would be able to help you contact college coaches and tell you whether or not he/she thinks you are ready for the next level. He can tally up your stats and fill out multiple recruiting questionaires on colleges' websites. (KEY) Make sure your GPA and SAT's are okay too. It's not like football players, where schools are lenient on academics. If you don't get recruited to a D1 school or school of your choice, try a junior college and transfer to a bigger basketball program.
GOOD LUCK!
