Personally, I don't like doing Chemistry experiments but I know what makes a good and successful on are this could be:

- Making sure you have all the apparatus you require.
- You use safety precautions like wearing eye protection.
- You need to know what you are doing.
- Note down results.

Addition of potassium iodide to hydrogen peroxide should do the trick. The H2O2 decomposes into H2O and O2, forming foam (especially if you add a little detergent). You can control the colour by using acidic H2O2 (yellow foam) or neutral (white foam).

Another one is altering the pH of a sodium chromate solution. The colour will reversibly alter between yellow (chromate) and orange (dichromate). Just add acid or alkali to see the change (not sure which drives the reaction to dichromate, I think it's acid).
