Unless there are rules dictated by the school, pretty much anything that fits under that silly cap and gown goes!!
Be comfortable and be ready for where ever you are going afterwards. I wore a cotton sun dress that kept me pretty cool in that awful, hot June sun and was fine for traveling to the after party in.
