You sound like a wonderful thoughtful sister/mom....he is fortunate to have you! It is hard to find something special for a young man. You already have some great starters with the things you mentioned that he is into.I was thinking of a very nice book." history of star wars" ....that would be something he would keep for many years to come and nothing that would be a fade that he would toss out in a short period of time. You could write a note inside it commemorating the date of his graduation....that is one great moment in everyone's life.

you could get him a funny gift, like earplugs, for falling asleep in a noisy dorm for the first time. you could get him something you find helpful as a college student, like whatever you think is best for hanging posters, or you could get him money, extra long tall sheets (for those dorm beds)whatever you do, make sure you have a card

I don't think that having Down syndrome really makes a difference...just ask his parents what his interests are and buy something suitable. It's lovely of you to give him a gift at his graduation. Despite some of the extremely hateful answers you have received, this young man has earned his diploma and should be congratulated! I have he a feeling he's gotten farther along in school than some of the people who gave you idiotic suggestions!Anyway, he'll be delighted with any thoughtful gift you give him, just like any other kid would!
