How old are you? You can't just get a student visa. If you're under age 18, you can't get one at all - your visa would be linked to that of your parents, so the only way you'd be allowed into the US is if your family also comes. The exception would be if you applied to a private, boarding high school in the US. If you got into one of those, you'd be allowed into the US to study. Is that what you mean?

If you're over age 18, you could get a student visa, but not in order to attend high school. You'd need to be eligible to enter a university to qualify for a student visa.

Depends on the high school. Our school is on the block system. It is not the norm. We have four classes a day. One semester will count as one year. so if a student takes french 1 for fall semester, they will be able to count it as one year of french for colleges and high school graduation requirements. Many juniors are taking honors or AP level classes.

Most HS have 7/8 periods a day.
Every HS school student should of taken (to apply to colleges)
4yrs of english
3 yrs of science with two of labs- biology and chemistry

2/3 yrs of the same foreign language
2 yrs of history-US and World.
Many students take calculus and physics.

many HS have theater, orchestra, band, choir for electives.

The majority of high schools in the US are public schools, therefore do NOT require a uniform. A select few are private high schools and DO require a uniform. But, for the most part, they do not.
