Yes there is going to be an HSM3! It is coming out to theaters on October 24th. The first High School Musical was the wildcats Junior Year at East High, High School Musical 2 was the summer after their Junior Year and before their Senior Year and High School Musical 3: Senior Year is about their Senior Year. Yes they did mention college in HSM2 but all they said was that Troy was nervous about college not that he was going to college next year. Hope this helps!

The movie is rated G and the high school musical franchise is supported by most people aged 5-22, making it one of the most family oriented movies of modern times. I went to see a sneak peek in Utah with my 7 year old cousin and she loved it. She sang the whole way home. On top of the facts that the statistics state I did a survey for my Social Studies project on the effects of HSM on the average student at my school, and out of the 25 people I asked, only 1 person didn't like.
I think you should see this movie with your sister, I am sure she will love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

High School Musical 1 - [9 Stars] Absolutley amazing. The reason why the whole HSM fanchise became so phenominal. Amazing story-plot, and a great way to introduce the characters.

High School Musical 2 - [7] Great choreography; and great music. The plot... not the best. But still a great movie. Didn't live up to the first one though.

High School Musical 3 [10000000 Stars ?] Haha! It was INCREDIBLE. Everything, just everything was what I was hoping the last movie to be. The choreography was soooooo amazing, as well as the music. I loved all the Troy and Gabriella moments; they were soooo adorable! Sharpay came back as fiesty as ever, and she did an outstanding job.
And the plot was the best one yet. I ended up in tears.
