High School Musical Games To Play

Try a scavenger hunt.

Darryl Said:

is boogie/high school musical/ wii play any good on wii?

We Answered:

none of these games are any good on Wii. The best out of them is Wii play, mostly because you get a Wii-mote which makes the game basically $10 which is a steal.

The problem with boogie is it is almost impossible to lose. There is no skill involved at all. You can pretty much do anything to rack up points. The game is "playable" but you aren't really playing the game. You are just shaking your Wii with almost no rhythm hoping you bested your previous awesome score. I wouldn't take time to rate it, just avoid it.

And I don't like High School Musical because as a personal bias, that anything related with that show is the bane of my existence after working in the electronics department at Target. Also there are currently much better singing games on every other system. The ps2 has Rock Band, Karaoke Revolution, and singstar. The 360 and PS3 has just Rock Band. But all those games I feel is more competent than High School Musical after being forced to actually play the game.

From a technical standpoint, I find this game to be a waste of money. Sure it appeals to those who like high school musical, but there is only 21 songs to play and the graphics look like first generation ps2 graphics. To compare to my favorite series karaoke revolution: which averages double the amount of songs per game. Singstar also contains more songs but they have conveniently separated the games per genre so I can avoid pop music all together. These games have a much broader appeal unlike High School Musical. I would rate this game low, but somewhat above Boogie because at least it works, but good luck getting a lot of people to play it.

If you don't have a 360 or PS3 I recommend getting Guitar Hero III for Wii, even more so if you never owned a single game in the series. While the Wii version probably won't get downloadable content, it still has all of the options the ps3 and 360 has including online play (something the ps2 version lacks).

Although that is basically a party game, I would recommend getting one more party game. Either WarioWare for Wii or Raving Rabbids 2. Both are insane titles that will make for a great gathering of friends and family.
Wii Play 8/10
Boogie 3/10
High School Musical 5/10
Guitar Hero III 10/10
Wario Ware 8/10
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 8/10

If you really want a microphone game, it is only a matter of time before Konami ports Karaoke revolution to the Wii, unfortunately Singstar is a Sony exclusive and won't be ported on the system.
