Where can i find a high school scholarship? We Answered:
Generally, the only place you will likely find a scholarship is through the school. Check the school's website for information on financial aid, look under Admissions. Most schools now only have needs-based financial aid, based on your family's income. A few schools have merit-based financial aid, mostly at Catholic schools from what I've seen.I take it you're in public school? You'll need to learn the process of applying to private school. Here are some previous posts I made that will help you.

You will need recommendations from your 8th grade math and English teacher, maybe an administrator. So they can write a good recommendation, you should make up a resume, that's what they had the 8th graders applying for high school do at my son's private school, even though it's a small school and the teachers know the kids well. Also, by looking at the resume, you will see what work you might need to do. Like if you don't have any community service, you will want to do some this summer, since you may be starting the admissions process in September, depending on your location. Make sure you mark down the important dates on a calendar!
Depending on how competitive admissions is at the schools, you may want to apply to more than one school. In my area there are 3 - 5+ applications per space. Sometimes applying for financial aid will put you in a more competitive admissions pool. But often it will not, they will do the admissions and financial aid are decided separately -- if they decide to admit you, then they will see if your parents qualified for financial aid and how much. At good private schools typically about 20% of students are receiving financial aid. Financial aid may not cover the full tuition, it depends on the school, generally they like to give smaller amounts of aid to more students. But it is definitely worth applying for. All your parent's info will be kept private.

Does immigration status matter to receive a high school scholarship? We Answered:
I think that immigration status matters when applying for college scholarships. For high school a proof of residence and valid passport or visa is fine.Tiffany Said:
How do I apply for a high school scholarship? We Answered:
Hello how are you? What I suggest that you do is use a scholarship search. A scholarship search allows you to create a profile and receive information for all the scholarships that you are eligible to apply for based on your profile description. Scholarshipsupport.com actually has 2 free scholarship searches available right now. I hope this helps. Good Luck!Zachary Said:
Please help me with my High School Scholarship Application? We Answered:
I think you would have better results by talking about what you enjoy or the good grades you have gotten, and in what subjects. If you can give a bit of personal info about why you enjoy them or what you would like to do with them in your future, that would be good. This must come from YOUR mind, as it relates directly to YOU. I gave you an idea on the other question to begin with the words..."When" or "While..." and go on to talk about what you like about learning, the school or what you hope to gain in the future from the education THIS school can provide. Has there ever been a time when you enjoyed your classes so much, it made you excited or gave you hope for the future? Start out talking about that. Has there ever been a time when you learned something in a particular subject that sparked your interest in life, etc...then, talk about that. It is a good thing to think on. I am sure once you do, for awhile, you will know how to begin.
The only way you CAN'T do this Athena, is if you HATE school. Then I would say, reconsider that attitude. Many places in the world do not allow a woman to be educated.
