Homework Help High School
Dave Said:
Can you please help me on my english homework (high school English 2)?We Answered:
1) He doesn't like Gillian's lighthearted, carefree attitude; he thinks Gillian is rather shallow and immature.2) When he casually mentions that he had seen a beautiful pendant, she replies -- in an airy, offhand manner, bordering on plain rudeness -- that she recently saw one of the other ladies wearing a very expensive necklace. This comparison discourages him, because he doesn't have enough money to buy anything so costly.
3) Lessons:
From Bryson, he learns there are worthy ways to spend money.
From Miss Lauriere and the blind man, he learns not everyone needs or wants his money.
From the cab driver, he learns some people are very enterprising.
I don't know what, if anything, he learns from Miss Hayden.
4) If you mean WHY he gives her the money, I think it's because he really likes her very much, and feels that she deserves to have the money.
5) The consequence is supposed to be that, for doing something unselfish like that, he is to receive fifty thousand dollars.
6) By ripping up the envelope, he doesn't have to reveal the fact that he gave his money to Miss Hayden. Instead, he says he lost the money by betting on the races, knowing that by saying such a thing, Miss Hayden will receive the rest of the money.
7) I think he learns that, where money is concerned, it feels better and more meaningful to help someone secretly, than to bring up the subject of money bluntly to their faces.

i need help with college prep english 11 homework(high school work)? We Answered:
well... here are a few...ring of fire (johnny cash or wall of voodoo)
we didn't start the fire (billy joel)
puritan (hatebreed)
crucible (rob halford) (has one "f" word in it)
there are others of course... some of which i found really wouldn't be appropriate for high school! i'll try and edit more in later.
