Yes, it's fine.

If the school is full though, you might be on the waiting list. However, most people would advise you not to move during the school year, as your classes and knowledge will differ and difficult to adjust to classes. Friends and people are not so much a problem if you have no trouble adjusting to new people.

If you are transferring somewhere between 11-12 grade, I advise you NOT to do it. 11-12 grade, especially if you are doing IB, is a very important time in school.
