Job Search Engines For High School Students

Harry Said:

Fastest way to become an art teacher?

We Answered:

You can't. Teaching degrees require four year plus student-teaching. Find a passion and work toward in. Not settle for what you think will suffice for a while. You will be doing yourself and students a disservice.

Thelma Said:

Can someone explain to me how a mature student application works?

We Answered:

One plus you have in your favor is that there are scholarships for non-traditional students which sounds like you are. Go in to one of the college admissions office and let them help you. Tell them what your background is and let them see what they can do for you. You'd be surprised-schools LIKE mature students because their life experience adds to the classroom and they take school more seriously. Good luck!

Veronica Said:

Where is a job search engine where a 16 yr old can find a job?

We Answered:

I am/was in the same boat. What I did was go around town to places that I wanted to work, asked for an application, and returned them. Most movie theaters hire teens, and do cafes and such. As of now, I think I am being hired to pick fruit for a farm. See if their is anything like that in your area.

Johnnie Said:

What am I supposed to do after college?

We Answered:

Go to... I forgot the name of the department... but try talking to a consoler and talk about job internships. In FIU, you pay $20 and they give you an account on a website from the university and you can see job internships in your field. There, you have access to contact information and other types of information such as location and pay.

Christy Said:

How to shorten down my story? 10 Points?

We Answered:

Hmm...800-1000 words can hardly be called a story. I guess your teacher just doesn't want to read that much. I think that perhaps your scope is far too broad to write a story that short. Maybe write the entire thing, but excerpt a small pivotal scene (that is a complete story in its own right) and submit that as your story. It might help you to read a few short short stories to see how they have condensed everything into a few pages. The two that come to my mind are Hemingway's "A Clean Well-lighted Place" and Margaret Atwood's "Happy Endings." Not sure if you can find them online, but a quick Google search might do it.

Cheers.
