Projects in English Subjects for Junior High School Students?

We Answered:

hi, ya i just graduated junior high as an 8th grader, but have the class read the book "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton its a great book, both boys and girls would like it! Well we did do fun but challenging projects. the poem Stay gold, by Robert Frost (it used in the book), we used this poem and made our own poems, you can use a topic for them to do about the poem if you want. we also had to make an album about the book. we had to choose any 10 songs that correspond with the book and tell the meaning about the song and how it works with the book, also design an album cover that goes with the book . Maybe after you can have them watch the movie

Do some Junior High school and Middle Schools start later than the Elementary/High Schools?

We Answered:

It's my experience that elementary schools start a bit earlier-- at 8:00, while the middle and high schools start at the same time-- 8:30.

There are specialized times for certain things though. Like at my high school I'm in an AP program that lets me take 6 classes a day as opposed to the normal for us, which is 4. But this requires me to be there at 7:30.

There's a local early college high school that doesn't start until 9:30 or so, but that's not a full-on public school.

I suppose that a middle school beginning at 9:00 isn't impossible, there just isn't one like that here.
