Leadership Camps For High School Students
Tracy Said:
do you think these are competitive numbers for University of Chicago, NYU, Will&Mary, or USC?We Answered:
I think you are definitely qualified, however when applying to such competitive schools, there is an element of sheer luck involved, because so many overachievers (and I mean that in a good way) just like you will also be applying. Good Luck!Kyle Said:
Advice on going to a camp full of rich kids?We Answered:
Learn to be outgoing... if you're attending a leadership conference, you've apparently shown some leadership qualities. Thus, throw caution to the wind. Heck, this will probably be the best place to try being more outgoing. You'll probably never see those people again (I attended a leadership conference myself), so why not be different? If you don't want to talk much, then at least make people think that you're interested and try to be confident. Look people in the eye when they talk, but be relaxed. Take interest in what they say, even if it isn't that interesting. Don't hesitate to say something yourself. If someone talks when you do/are, don't stifle yourself, either continue or acknowledge them talking (almost like allowing them).
I was/somewhat still am a lot like you. I don't speak often... only when necessary. The leadership conference I attended was the most fun I've had because it allowed me to be someone different from the socially awkward fellow I used to be, and helped to shape me into a better, chattier, person. It's nice when your friends aren't around to remind you of who you are.
And try to avoid the topic of money... but if it does, stay confident.

do i have a chance for UofChicago, W&M,NYU,Northwestern, or USC?We Answered:
USC will be tight; probably good to go on the other three. GPA is strong, SAT and ACT are very good. Your class rank will help quite a bit as will leadership positions you've held in extra curricular activities. If you haven't done so already, contact the teachers that you want to write letters of recommendation for you. Give them at least a months notice before you need the letters. After you receive the letters, write them a nice thank you note; one you actually mail, not e-mail. You never know if you will need them to write another one down the road. You will do well no matter where you go!Alfred Said:
Chances at UC Berkeley so far as a Junior.?We Answered:
Most of your resume looks great. All of the extra curriculars will look great, so make sure bring them up on your application process. There is one serious weakness however, and that is your SAT score. (I am assuming 1580 out of 2400). Said scores are very important, and I hate to say it but I think your chances will be slim unless you get that score up. I really recommend you study for your SAT over the summer and try to get as high of a score as possible.
Make sure you apply to some back ups like UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, etc.

What are some inpirational poems for teens going through life?We Answered:
A young man almost three,Sat upon his mothers knee,
With crayons in his hand,
His masterpiece he planned.
Brilliant crayons he did love,
And never grew tired of,
Colors so amazingly bright,
Like a glowing prism light!
The evening sunset phasing,
Like a red-hot flame blazing,
Radiant colors so enhanced,
His eager little eyes danced.
With excitement so delirious,
In a soft voice so serious,
Said mother-mother look,
As her hand in his he took.
Never dropping his gaze,
Like a mesmerizing daze,
Staring at the splendid hue,
God-has crayons too.
