As suggested above, TAFE offers courses but the problem is that these are usually for more mature students.
All Australian schools have computer education courses and according to Kevin 07, many more computers will be provided to schools (we will see eh?).
As first cab of the rank, I would contact Vic Ed and ask them. You could also contact the principal of your local high school and ask what they offer and are there any other schools that offer more for students gifted in that area.

An important, Careers in computer gaming field are few and far between. A wider education in computers won't go astray.

Yes, it always has been and always will be because it is such a great school and ranks as one of the very best in the world.

They hold an entrance examination each year and I am told that up to 3000 Year 8 students sit the examination for about 300 places at Melbourne High Sschool and a similar number at its sister school, MacRobertson's Girls' High School.

I think that you should ring the school to check when applications close because it is very early in the year, maybe this week.

I am a retired school principal and I went to Melbourne High long, long before you were born and have always been thankful and proud that I had the opportunity. It makes us feel that we have something special to add to the community.

To be honest for 2 months you can get alot of practice!
1st of all its rather easy if you go to a pretty 'dumb school'
there are 6 parts in th mel high exam
For the Maths part-
just study not to make any silly mistakes
u should know your, surds, phtagoras, graphs and if you want to take a little step further, learn sin,cos,tan
Numerical Reasoning-
This part is farely self explantitory
you have to know your patterns
ie- 2,4,6,8, x
Verbal Reasoning-
GET A DICTIONARY
learn words, aorund 30 a day
since they have a broad amount to coose from
questiions will come up such as, Hoax is similar to X
Comprhension-
This is my foe =='
1 and a half page passage, ead it
answer 3 question
Analytical + Creative writing-
start doing your practice essays (15minutes)
build your straucture, put in good words and ur done

some tips-
start at the back of the book, mosteasiest questions
maybe go to hendersons :)

I haven't done the test yet... obviously.. I'm a girl. But I'm going up for the Mac.Rob test but I think it's the same exam... You've probably already gone to this site but it has a lot of useful information:

There's practice tests on there so they should give you an idea of what to study. I think there's six available, one for each topic in the exam. There's also the application form that you have to fill out. If you haven't applied yet, I suggest you apply before May 29th (that's when entries close). There's also details about the test as well.

If you know anyone that goes to tutor or even go to tutor yourself, some tutors give their students workbooks that help you prepare their test. The ones that my friends have our very thick. If you could get your hands on one, or even photocopy someone's, that should help you tons.
