Jeffrey Said:

What chance do I have of getting into an Ivy level school with scholarships?

We Answered:

As you guessed, you have a decent shot of admission, but scholarships are unlikely. Your chances of Admission are greatly improved if you are a Legacy.

Ivy League schools do not offer non-need scholarships (at least that was the rule when I was a student) and your profile is pretty standard of most applicants to these schools. As such, short of having something unique about your background (growing up in "Stars Hollow," being an orphan, having a parent in prison, being a first generation college student, being a star runner, etc.) a scholarship is highly improbable from Stanford, Vandy or Northwestern. Of course, you have National Merit money and if you are relatively poor (parental income < 70,000 ), you will qualify for a decent amount of financial aid.

College Scholarships? help please?

We Answered:

Try going to fastweb.com

You have to register, but they have all kinds of scholarships you can apply for. And they will email you if a new one becomes available (you tell them which career paths you are interested in). I'd say it's worth a try! Good Luck!

What are my chances of getting accepted to top universities?

We Answered:

You sound like an exceptional student I think you have a very good chance at getting into whatever college you want to go to. Just make sure it suits your needs.

Charlotte Said:

What are my chances of getting into a top university?

We Answered:

First, don't worry about going to an undergraduate institution that is affiliated with a medical school - my alma matter did not have a medical school, and the closest med school had more graduates from my institution than their own (and they had a student population ten times the size of ours!). Quite simply, we prepared better future doctors. That should be your focus in searching - who has a program that you want to study in and the people you want to study with (both students and professors). Medical schools WILL NOT give a preference to students who graduate from their own undergraduate programs.
As far as getting in to a good school, you should be fine. I worked in admission at a selective liberal arts school for four years, and we would have loved to have had a student like you (and some of your AP scores would have gotten you some college credit, too!). You are exactly the type of student that universities are looking for: you are bright, you have tested well, you have taken a rigorous course load, and you have been involved in leadership roles.
Don't worry, you are going to be OK.
