My impression is: of the three windward high schools, the one with the best reputation is Kalaheo.Rosa Said:
Are there any military high schools that i can send my son for 12th grade that are not for troubled youth? We Answered:
I don't know too much about military schools, but if you can't find one at least look into trying to get him into a school that has ROTC.Emma Said:
Military Schools for High Schoolers? We Answered:
If cost is a consideration, NMMI, New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell New Mexico, is probably the most reasonable boarding school in the country. For new cadets it costs between 12-13,000/year tuition, room, board, guy's weekly haircuts...lol...one inch on top max after the first 10 weeks. 1/4" before then. About $10,500 for subsequent years. For New Mexico residents it is just over $8,000/year first year and $7,000 after first year.http://www.nmmi.edu/business/newcosts.ht…

Also one of the most respected military prep schools in the country. Classes are small, usually less than 15 students. NMMI has the largest service academy prep school program:

NMMI is co-ed at both the high school and junior college level. Valley Forge is a great school and is guys only except at the junior college level. Costs over $30,000/year.
Good Luck!

Can military servicemen/women visit their old high schools in uniform? We Answered:
Yes, However it really depends upon your visit. Some schools will only allow each branch of the military to visit the school once or twice per year (thus fulfilling their requirement allowing recruiting). If you do it on your own (without the recruiter), Just make sure you check in with the office and let them know your intent is not recruiting. Just that you wanted to check in with your old teachers and some friends.
Chances are they would welcome you back.

I need high school students perspective on military recruiting in public high schools? We Answered:
I think it's fine as long as they don't go pursuing kids in the halls. If they just set up a booth for kids to voluntarily walk up to, I don't mind.Kids see plenty of recruiting commercials and ads on TV and Internet, and that's allowed.
