Online courses for high school students?

check if your high school is enrolled in vhs (virtual high school). if not, there are other options. some colleges offer correspondence courses for high school students. but your best bet would be to take a college course, as opposed to high school ones. its more certain that you'll get college credits for it, and there's a greater variety of courses you can take, as well as ways to take them. another option, if you're focusing on doing this over the summer, would be to look into community colleges in your area. it's cheaper, more interactive than an online course, and tends to be more informative. also, if you take an AP class, you need to think of when/where you'll take the AP exam.

Online courses for High school students?

Listed below are some good options, besides CAVA that's available to you in CA. BTW, YSN posted an incorrect link to CAVA, it's:

Many online high school programs have AP classes. Yes, they would count for college. If you take the AP exams, you can also earn automatic college credit based on your scores.

You can take pretty much any course you want to.

I would also recommend you look into taking some community college classes while in high school. If you're trying to get into the UC system, make sure you have all your "ducks in a row" as far as required high school curricula/courses.

Online College Courses for High School Student?

We Answered:

Thats a good plan.. to get High school & college credit while in high school..

I am in the same situation.. I am in high school, and I go to a local community college, and I take some of their online classes.. Some classes I took online were POLS 131 (Political Science) , PSY 131 (Psychology), and WR 131 (World Religions).. These are some of the major online courses offered at my local community college.

There are so many local community colleges in the united states. I currently attend Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn Mi.. I will leave you a link... It will show you classes that are offered 50% on campus & 50% online, or classes that are 100% online.. your Choice :)
just pick which ever one you want to see!

there are also classes that are offered on campus (but in this case-you wanted to see the online ones).. I hope I was much of assistance..
Good luck.

Online college courses for high school students?

We Answered:

Maybe. There are a few real online colleges, and there are many more fake ones. You'd have to be careful and make sure the school has regional accreditation; that's the only way you can be sure the credits will transfer. However, I very few regionally accredited schools will let you take college classes without a high school diploma or GED. So I suggest you talk to your guidance counselor about programs; it's far to easy for you to just get ripped off by a fake program.

Discuss It!
