I don't think my high school offers a required course?

We Answered:

It is possible that your high school does not have those courses -- mine didn't, and I think I took most of the math classes there.

Here's my suggestion: Try to take the most advanced math classes you can. Your high school should send a listing of advanced classes with your transcript when you apply for university, so the university you apply to will know that these courses were not available to you in high school.

Your other options are to take these courses at a local college or community college and include this information with your college application. Chances are, your admissions counselor will be very impressed with your initiative. If this is not an option, try to take online courses or explore these subjects on your own and write about your experiences in your college admissions essay to convey your interest in the topic.

for the high school students living in ontario, canada?

We Answered:

Try the urls below and see if you recognized one of these. As far as summer vs. online courses, it most likely depends on the university you're planning to attend, but I would imagine that most would look at your grades first. But, if you can save that $500 for university, you might consider taking the bus back and forth for summer school. You could also use the time to get your studying done ... more time to enjoy the rest of the summer :*)
