I don't know percentage, but get this. My cousin dropped out of high school and he does pretty well for himself. That is because he has a marketable trade. He is an artistic welder and a damn good one. He has created customized steal designs for universities, government offices, and private corporations. He makes good money just because he is good with a blow torch and some scrap steal.
Anyone that is considering dropping out of school, I would have to say don't be a fool. Unless you have some gifted skill you are not going to do well. Unless you have something to offer the world that school cannot teach, you will amount to nothing.

Whatever happened to their claims of education? It has already been shown that Conservatives are voted in in more educated districts.

All Liberals can do is insult the poor if they are in conservative states calling them "trailer trash". Of course those particular trailers are filled disproportionately with blacks, other minorities and single moms but that never bothered a Liberal.

I know in the 70's you really only needed about 10-13 credits to graduate high school, now, you need 28.
American education is improving, that is a fact, I am an American teen and I've even noticed this. The only thing that is holding the USA back is that stupid No Child Left Behind Act, dumbing down american school's just so the idiots can pass. thank god for advanced and honors classes, or i'd be sitting in a room fulla idiots.

People in lower socioeconomic groups tend to have higher dropout rates because the students leave school to go to work to help support their families. Education is seen as a luxury and not the necessity that it really is. In the absence of hope, they fail to see education as the ticket out.

I find your observations to be extremely shallow in that you seem to look only superficially.

i dont know.. but i bet its a big stat. I just know of Madonna, who is successful in the entertainment industry (not singing shes not a singer!) who graduated high school with straight A's, but then she dropped out of her dance scholorship in The University Of Michigan so she can go to New York.
