Photography Contests? Ten Points Best Answer :)?

We Answered:

Pick up any number of photography magazines and they post contests all the time... amateur, readers, students and even age groups.

Prizes are money, cameras and of course, recognition.

A website with an list of art contests for teenagers?

We Answered:

Hi! I've been looking for you and while there doesn't seem to be a central website (though I may not have found it yet) there are bunches of contests: locals, regionals, nationals, even one in New Zealnd that's international. Just type: 'teenage art competitions' in your browser ... and start to get ready!! Here are a few for good measure... and I wish you so much good luck!

Help w a photography contest?

We Answered:

dpi = dots per inch... image quality as opposed to resolution...

you can check to see what an image is (particularly if it is a jpeg - which is usually about 150dpi) with a program like Irfanview and change the dpi to 300...

Photography contests for high school students?

We Answered:

Look into internships. They'll give you hands-on experience (as well as published clips) in the field which makes finding a job later on in your career much easier. It also helps to give you a better understanding of if what kind of photography business appeals to you- portraiture, journalism, etc. Most publications "hire" students (i.e. most internships are unpaid, compensating you instead with valuable work experience). Good luck.
But if you do enter your work in a contest, make sure you don't sign away the rights to YOUR image.
