Kay Said:

is comparing different brands of spring water to basic for a high school science fair project?

We Answered:

I have also taught High School Science and judged science fairs. I agree that it is too simple.

If you are interested in water, what specific interest do you have? Taste? Health?

Let's say it is taste.

You could ask, "Which factors most influence how spring water tastes?''

You could test for each factor as you planned, and correlate them to how people respond to taste-tests.

To see how to run correlations, visit the linked web-page. The information on correlations is on the bottom.

Kathryn Said:

Does any one know a great science fair projects, for high school students. that require only a few materials?

We Answered:

uhh menthos and soda pop or the volcano =-D
but this is just an idea, my partner from long ago did all the work but heres what we did
question: When reading notes does the colour of text content or specific bolded words affect you on taking a test? Like get a specific amount of text information on something like i dont know Salvia? and make like 3 copies of each and one has to be normal same colourd text, other has bolded words, and last one some sentences highlighted in a different colour, then make a test about the notes and test say like 30 different adults and see which group of people would get the best test results. You could like do research on it about the human memory and stuff like that...
Or you can do the dog experement holding up colours and seeing if the dog responds to any of it
Or use different types of soil when growing plants
Or get two friends and feed them both a bunch of cheese burgers and twinkies and see who gets fater ( you could do research on motabolism)
