Mattie Said:

what are the top zoned high schools in NYC and top HS?

We Answered:

First of all, there are no zoned high schools anymore. Kids are assigned to schools based on a complicated ranking process.

You cannot just move into a neighborhood with a good school and get assigned there.

The process of ranking schools is almost over, anyway. They should be telling kids what school they'll be going to in just a few weeks. The kids who got into the specialized schools found out weeks ago.

You should know, however, that you can take the specialized schools test (it's called the SHSAT) in the fall, for admission in 10th grade.

So if your son doesn't get into a good school, he can try to get into a specialized school the following year.

Good luck!

What Are The Top Elementary/High Schools In The Philippines?

We Answered:

Check the internet. They have to have a webiste for their board of ed or whatever they call it. Under the freedom of information act, at least here, they have to post all standardized test scores so you know how well or not a school performs.

What are the top high schools in New York?

We Answered:

Are you in NYC or just NY State? In the city, Stuyvesant, Bronx Science, Brooklyn Tech. You have to take a test and score among the top students to be offered admission to one of those three.

There are also a host of private schools (see http://www.interschool.org/ for some of the better ones), dozens of parochial schools, and a few other magnet schools.

More private and parochial schools listed here: http://www.isaagny.org/school_directory/…
