University High School

Joe Said:

What courses should I take in High School, University and Med school to become a doctor.?

We Answered:

You shold take every science and human biology class that is offered. In high school you want to be in AP classes in every area you can. Especially in areas of communication. Getting into Medical School is all about selling yourself as a package. A well prepared package. I'd start volunteering at a hospital, preferably in the ER so you can learn something. Call your local Boy Scouts and ask if they have an EMT Paramedic Explorer Scout program. If they do, join it and spend your weekends in uniform running emergency calls. Get CPR certified from the American Heart Association.
Don't waste your brain power thinking about what type of doctor you want to be. You'll change your mind 30 times between now and then. My final bit of advice. Tell no one that you want to be a doctor. Only one person from my high school class went on to be a physician, but plenty said they were going to.
