How can I graduate high school early?

We Answered:

You could take online classes and summer classes and possibly night school classes. This will definitely add on to your current workload but I think this will allow you to graduate earlier.

Can I take online General Ed credits?

We Answered:

I would think the critical issue here would be to start with the university where you think you might go in the future.

They may or may not offer the classes you want online, but they're your best starting point. They may also have some limitations on what they'll accept on a transfer in, it would be best to get that conversation out of the way first.

Most modern community colleges offer at least some of their classes online and the cost is generally VERY reasonable (compared to comparable university tuition). The key is to make sure that the institution is properly accredited and your credits will transfer where you need them to. Again, this is why I'd start with your ultimate goal and work backwards.

If you can't get an adviser at the university to talk with you...that's a pretty good sign you should be shopping for a new university.

Online high schools...?

We Answered:

I don't use it, as I'm a parent in another state, but I'd look into one of the K12 options in Utah.

K12 is an amazing curriculum. We've used it for 5.5 years. All virtual public schools (such as those linked above) are free because they are public schools. We do K12 as independent HS'ers and it costs us around $1600/year.
