Activity Based Learning

Stephanie Said:

Ideas for christian based learning activities for a 2 yr old?

We Answered:

Don't you think you out to start with the basics? forming words and sentences, physical coordination, toilet training seem more in order rather than religious indoctrination

Scott Said:

How might web-based learning activities cause engagement of all three learning styles?

We Answered:

Visual and Auditory are obvious, assuming the activity involves sound (i.e. a foreign language course having vocabulary practice).

Kinesthetic is a bit more difficult to incorporate. Typing hardly counts. Your best bet is to have an online program that includes offline activities. The offline activities will incorporate the kinesthetic aspects.

Ethel Said:

Does anyone know an activity that I can do to teach my fellow education majors about outcome-based learning?

We Answered:

to prove learning is better or more effective in what we see( observe) not what we hear...perform a task completely in silence...mime for the class to repeat it...have a second group perform the same task only verbal count the number of students in each group who completes the task correctly you will be surprised at the results.

Simple activities in German for 13-14 year olds?

We Answered:

Well, you can't learn a lot of German in ten minutes, but here's an idea:
Set up a phone conversation:
1) Hello, who is that?
2) This is [name2]. What is your name?
1) This is [name1]. How are you [name2]?
2) I am fine thankyou [name1]. And how are you?
1) I am good thankyou. Until later!
2) Until later!

In German, this is:
1) Guten Tag. Wer sind Sie?
2) Hier ist Rolf. Wie ist Ihre Name?
1) Ich bin Christian. Wie geht's, Rolf?
2) Gut danke, Christian. Und Sie?
1) Gut danke. Bis spaeter!
2) Bis spaeter!

Cody Said:

How much time do you spend in your home-school studying books & how much learning is activity based?

We Answered:

It has really depended on the children's ages and learning styles. This year I have two boys at home, 7th gr & 5th gr. We read Bibleand history together and do memory work together, this takes about 1.5 hours; their independant and computer work probably takes about 2+ hours; the rest of the day is LIFE learning--taking care of animals, chores, reading, working on their businesses, etc. If we want to do an activitiy for school, I usually schedule a special day of mostly activities, because otherwise we have trouble finding time!
