At Home Learning

Kirk Said:

Creative at-home learning idea's??

We Answered:

Come up with a car for every letter and put a post it note or something on the top of the car then teach your child about the order and then mix them up and let him "drive" them to their right places in line (it works for numbers too)
Good luck

Daniel Said:

what would an at home learning program be good to take. one with national accreditation?

We Answered:

You don't need accreditation for home education.

At home learning for 2/3-4 year old children?

We Answered:

Hmmm...we home-based programs here in the U.S. are required to be licensed by our State and much follow the regulations set for family or group home child cares (which is different then center regulations). I provide a preschool program and have early childhood background but it's not required (though I recommend it.) I provide child care as well and aim for the preschool age so my name includes Family Child Care and Preschool.

Unfortunately, I don't make much providing preschool from a home-based standpoint. We live in a rural area and community considers home-based people---babysitters and therefor it's difficult to go against that flow. Eventually! I make about $44 for a 16 hour/week program. And that's expensive around here. If you live in a city you probably would get more $$$.

Family homes here can be licensed for 6 children and group home for 12. Personally I wouldn't want more than 6 children on my own. Beyond that you aren't able to provide the individualization and etc that is so beneficial and will set you apart from "child care".

Sorry I can't be more specific for your situation since I'm unfamiliar with South Australia :-)
