I help people in France learn English but I don't know what you mean by "Interchange books".

There is a series of books with CDs called Cambridge English Readers...

You can look at them. They start at level "S" and go up to level 6.
Most of my students can read at level 2 or 3.

These are stories...these are not text books.

Something else I do with my students is watch DVDs in both their native language and English to practice listening to native English speakers.

I also get a book in English and then get the French version of the book and we read a few paragraphs of the book together.

Not sure it's what you want to hear, but I'd say the best CD course for learning the English Language is Rosetta Stone English (US). If you look around, you should be able to find Rosetta Stone English on sale, and with free shipping:
