Home Learning College

Lucy Said:

Is Home Learning College any good?

We Answered:

I would avoid the for-profit companies - they offer a cheap price, but the training is usually not great. The National Education Foundation is a non-profit that offers grants for courses online. You only pay $45 out of pocket for a $800 class. www.nefuniversity.org

Ellen Said:

Has anyone used the home learning college or ICS?

We Answered:

Try the Open University or NEC. ICS are TERRIBLE in my opinion - I asked them a question several YEARS ago, and they have NOT answered, until they do I can't do the exam.

Tammy Said:

Im doing a Sage Payroll course with the home learning college. is it worth it?

We Answered:

Depends. It's a lot of money to spend on a skill you may not use. I find it quite handy as I'm a freelance bookkeeper, so for me it was worth it. I've done it along with SAGE Accounts.

So will you use it?

Laura Said:

Norma Said:

Has anybody done a course from The Home Learning College?

We Answered:

I have done courses through the Open University. The Open University had the courses that i had an interest in and they were great to do, plus i went on a field trip and got to met everyone else that was doing the course. With the open university they hold a seminar sometimes once a week on an evening where everyone in your area can get together and discuss any problems and swap ideas, which can be a help as it is not always easy to work completely on your own.
There are many home learning courses out there and the best thing to do is to find the courses that are of interest to you.
My open university courses have lead me to go to University and i am not in my third year of my degree and hoping to do my honours too.
The courses would have also allowed me to get the job that i was interested in but i decided to go for my degree.

The hardest thing about home learning is setting the time aside for doing the work, as after a long day at work it is not always the thing that you want to do.

Good luck in what you want to do, if you need any help give me a shout and i will help.

Peggy Said:

hi guys, have any one done a online course with home learning college?

We Answered:

the girl that used to help on our farm did some online courses with the community college. she really liked it better, as she could take class when it was convenient for her, and if the weather was bad she didnt have to travel into town to get to class.

I dont know if I'd get ALL my classes online. There are just some subjects I think are more condusive to a classroom setting.

Mario Said:

Is ICS and the Home Learning College a scam?

We Answered:

a lot of these organisations tempt you with their web sites. I followed one and it would have cost 4 times the going college rate to take a course. The offer a monthly amount which when added up is extortion. It is because employers have been brain washed into believing that you need a piece of paper to prove you are competent. Rubbish - its experience that counts. I know I've worked with some right tos***** who have a piece of paper that says they are qualified and they haven't a clue except in theory!
