Anne Said:

Can anyone recommend some fun homework/learning sites for kids?

We Answered:

This BBC Schools website is fantastic. It has online interactive flash games that are educational and fun.

Anyone know of any free (safe) kids sites for learning phonics and math?

We Answered:

My favorite (and my preschool age twin girls' favorite) is www.starfall.com, although I don't think it has math, just reading skills. I LOVE it!! My kids never get bored with it!

Some cool learning web sites for kids and parents?

We Answered:

Lots of Math Worksheets and stuff on here: http://www.superteacherworksheets.com (Yes, I own the site, but I think it might help in your search.)

Do You Know any interiactive non learning kids sites? Virtual Fun Kidz Sites?

We Answered:

Here is a list from a blog post:

Webkinz.com - you need to buy a stuffed animal first though

ClubPenguin.com - can start for free, but will have to pay a monthly fee for more features

Imbee.com -more of a tween site, celebs, gossip, intro to blogging, etc

Whyville.net - tween site

HabboHotel (Habbo.com) - tweens, celebs, etc.

ToonTown.com -more appealing to younger kids

PuzzlePirates.com - if your son is turned off by the Webkinz charm stuff looking like it’s more for girls, try this site out. It looked really interesting (as a mom who has two boys, though they are too old for this now).

Kidscom.com

Zwinky.com - looked like strictly a dress up site, appealing to some I guess

BarbieGirls.com - is competing with their own Barbie.com; supposedly “much more interactive”. Is originally free, but then requires a $60 mp3 player to unlock “all the features” of the site

Stardoll.com

Gaiaonline.com - anime style avatars you can create and then interact with

Neopets.com - the site that started it all?

From what I can tell, the majority of these are free to start with, but then manage to suck the money out of you when you want to do anything more than the entry level stuff.
