Hey i started on visual basic about a a year ago and a few months ago i tried moving to C# and C++ but found it so much harder going from Vb being such a easy language. You can make a fair bit on visual basic, but C# in my opinion be a better place to start, but if you find that REALLY hard and your thinking about giving up go to visual basic. And all programs used on a computer are mainly made using the C language, media player, firefox, itunes, word, photoshop. Good luck in what ever you choose :)

I found the best way to learn C# by reading a book about the language. If you are familiar with any programming language that really helps. What people often find confusing is the object oriented side of computer languages.
Learning the language step by step is the best approach. Don't dive into hard stuff right away. Baby steps. I know it is frustrating but this is the best way to start.
Most of the books contain a hello world example.
Once you have mastered C#, other computer languages become easier.
So look for a hello world example and go from there.

Depends on the instrument. It's a half-step up from C natural, so on a string instrument or piano it's pretty straightforward. I'm not as familiar with wind instruments but imagine it is harder there.
