Learn English Speaking

Marvin Said:

Can I learn English Speaking by internet kindly suggest me some website.?

We Answered:

I think the best way to learn English speaking is to communicate frequently in English. Nowadays you can communicate online through Yahoo Messenger, Chat, SMS, etc. I myself always post something in yahoo answer so that I could improve my English. Other than that I write blogs so that I could practice my English...

Norman Said:

Why should we have to learn Spanish when this is an English speaking country?

We Answered:

Actually, we have no national language. You act like it is an insult to you if someone speaks spanish.
Do you think that being biligual is a negative trait?

If people don't want to learn English, let them suffer. They will never succeed here, and they shouldn't. Well, not unless they live in Miami or Puerto Rico (which is a US territory).

Stop taking it so personally. If you go to Puerto Rico, Guam, or the Philippines would you expect people to speak English? They are all owned by the US.

Also, why are you just attacking Spanish-speaking people? Are you prejudiced?

If you don't want to learn another language, you don't have to. Just fail the class. Do you feel the same about math, history, home ec, or phys ed. Just do your best. It is very respectable to speak other languages.

For some people, it is not required that they speak English to contribute to the USA. Its not as if you get off the boat from Chile and then suddenly English flows from your mouth like a Shakespearian King.

MOST of the latin immigrants want to be able to speak English, and most of try to learn, and eventually succeed. It just takes time. They are only human.

It is a very respectable thing to speak more than one language. If you don't want to learn another one, that is fine. But it would definately improve how people see you and how you see yourself. I'm not saying learn Spanish, I am just saying that it would be a very respectable quality. If you want, you could try to learn German, French, Italian, Dutch or whatever. Don't be so closed minded that you aren't trying to improve yourself.

Tanya Said:

What do children in English-speaking countries learn English at school?

We Answered:

It depends on the grade

Children in America learn grammar, word usage, spelling, writing and reading skills in English classes. Often these classes are called Language Arts but in high school they may be called English.
Here are some helpful sites:
http://www.phschool.com/atschool/txtbk_r…
http://www.mcdougallittell.com/ml/
http://www.macmillanmh.com/languagearts/…

Those are all popular textbooks used in the country. Each state and each school within the state may use a different textbook.

Michael Said:

How to learn english speaking & communication skills?

We Answered:

Actually, broadening/improving one's language skills is a very broad concept, it can be done in more than one ways at the same time which is highly recommended. One can NOT become better ONLY in one area e.g. speaking, one MUST improve skills in ALL dimensions of the language!

Learning language well requires being as active as possible and making the learning fun for oneself. Taking lessons is always important, but equally important are these:

1) Listen/watch: Listen to internet radio stations like BBC, watch TV shows in English (use only subtitles, NOT voice dubbing!), etc.

2) Write/communicate: Try to find discussion forums from the web about things that you find interesting (music/various artists, hobbies, etc.) and start communicating there with other people using English. Start using instant messaging systems in case you find some new friends or start emailing them.

3) Buy yourself a proper dictionary, and each time when you see a strange word that you do not understand, look it up.

The main point in ANY language learning is to make it as fun as possible for yourself. Try to find topics that INTEREST you, read online newspapers, listen to BBC/NBC and other radio stations online, if you find a discussion forum for e.g. your favourite hobby or your idols in music do participate there, etc.

I'm sorry there is no easy way out with this, one really must develop language skills in ALL these language "levels" or dimensions in order to reach better language skills!!

Last but not least: NEVER EVER use ANY online translators, they are nothing but utter rubbish!! English is practically EVERYWHERE in the online world these days, you just have to use your imagination to find it!

Good luck!!
