What is the best language software to learn french? We Answered:
Hey Matt- I recommend you use Byki. That's what I'm using to learn Ukrainian. It's free but mad cool. So its kinda like stealing but totally legal! hahahI like Pimsleur for in the car or on the plane (when I can't hop on the laptop too much). They have some introductory pricing that works well.
Rosetta is just way too pricey for what you get (I bought it in the airport one time- $$$ mistake). There's too much free and good priced stuff out there.

How to learn French.. Finding a software help?We Answered:
I have used livemocha but like with any site, there are a lot of weird people and they use the same curriculum with every language and some have mentioned that there are mistakes in it. I would recommend http://www.hello-hello.com it is a site similar to livemocha but it is set up by the American council on the teaching foreign languages. As of now, the courses are free and are very good if you are looking for everyday conversational French. Another great site is Français interactif from the University of Texas. It is a great free curriculum which is about the same as beginning and intermediate french in college. http://www.laits.utexas.edu/fi/ I recommend you closely follow these lessons and not just skim through them in order to really get the most out of them. You can also watch the popular French in Action series for free at http://www.learner.org this should help you with your listening skills. If you want basic traveler's French and some useful phrases the BBC languages section is a neat resource. http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages.
Last but not least I heartily recommend the ielanguages site. http://www.ielanguages.com although it does take a certain type of person to appreciate this site since people who aren't serious learners would skip a lot of its resources. I have a lot more sites in minds but it all depends on your needs. If you want any more resources just message me and i'll be glad to help out since I know there are a lot of useless websites out there and I have skimmed through a lot and chosen the best.
Hope this info helps you and good luck with your studies.

As a French native speaker, I recommend this to everyone who ask me how to learn French. This is a great course for beginners as they take you from easy steps at the beginning to more difficult stuff when you make progress.
Bon courage!

Hi Allis, my mothertongue is French and I'm living in Bangkok. If you're around do not hestitate to ask me for private lessons ^_^ (Joking!).More seriously, When you're righting 'yellow' in French, you have to write it 'jaune'.
Take care of yourself.
All the best.

Should I Learn French With Classes or Software? We Answered:
I personally learned french at home and school, as well as by practising it with family and friends but if I think of your question as far as how I learned my 'other languages'(English, Spanish, Finnish, Italian) then I think you're better off with classes. I haven't used Rosetta Stone but it could be a good "reinforcement" to accompany what you're learning in class .. and try and practise online and with other learners when possible.
Bonne chance et lache pas la patatte!
