Learn Italian Language

Bernice Said:

Would you consider Italian a difficult language to learn?

We Answered:

Absolutely not. I speak it and I am Romanian. It would be a breeze for you since you speak Spanish and Portuguese. Italian is a lot simpler than Portuguese because it has no nasal sounds - Port has 10 I believe.

Go for it! You'll love the language. It just rolls off your tongue.

I studied French, Italian, Spanish, German, Polish, Arabic, Russian, Romanian (mother tongue), and Chinese during the course of my life. I do not speak all of them, but I can certainly tell you what's easy and what's not.

What is the best way to learn Italian as a second language?

We Answered:

Well, I think you answered your own question. If you want a method that will teach you to SPEAK the language, I would not recommend Rosetta Stone as someone else did. Like other flashcard methods, Rosetta Stone's method focuses on expanding your vocabulary base. What it does not do is teach conversational skills. As a beginner, if you don't already have the foundation of the language under your belt, learning a lot of vocabulary words is not going to be of any help. Knowing many words is not knowing to speak a language. I usually recommend Pimsleur to beginner students. If you want a method that focuses on conversational skills, Pimsleur is the reference imo. I find that it does very well with new students as it is a real confidence builder, which is essential for new students. You will learn to train your ear to understand natives (an essential part of learning a new language often overlooked), develop very good pronunciation and get the fundamentals of the language under your belt. It's also half the price of RS (check Amazon for best prices.) Good luck.

what is the easiest best way to learn Italian language ?

We Answered:

sorry -- easy (easiest) is the wrong question. You need to ask how motivated you are, what your goals are, how much access you have to GOOD learning material. If it's easy, it's probably not good. If it's a struggle, it might help you SLOWLY reach your goal! But you know that, as you've learned English.

Lauren Said:

Is Italian a useful language to learn if I plan to study International Business?

We Answered:

None of those are especially useful for business. Business people in Sweden, Norway, and Germany all know perfect or near-perfect English.

Italian is best for opera and arts...language of love and romance. History/Archaeology, etc.

For business, Japanese, French and Mandarin are best.

Still, as already mentioned, NO language is a BAD thing to know!

Bene, apprendi italiano. È bella!

How to learn Italian language online?

We Answered:

One good way to learn Italian using online language learning software. Often times people ask if it can be done for free.

It is possible to learn Italian for free, however I do not recommend it. The problem is that free websites / free programs are only willing to offer so much. There would just be a dis organization of information that wouldn't go together very easily.

However, I do invite you to check out a way to learn Italian online which does cost some money. You can go here for more information: http://www.stuff4you.biz/languages.html

I would like to learn italian as a 2nd language does anyone know a website that teaches italian for free?

We Answered:

http://www.livemocha.com
They have free, interactive classes where you can talk to native Italian speakers through IM on the site. They have interactive classes, quizzes, and work, that you do on the website for people to check and review. Make sure to take the pre-test before you sign up for a class because it will recommend what Italian level class you should take. You have to register, but it is free.....registration only takes likes 2 minutes.
Good Luck with Italian!
