Karate and TKD forms are self explanitory and you dont need to be a master to understand how to use them.
Kung fu, is designed to be deceptive and are really hard to figure out how to use by just sight alone unless you practice kungfu with masters. Kung fu people usually being more secretive and select and traditional would LOATH at the idea of anything more than basics being put online. Its respectful to the tradtion of the kung fu you are learning to find a teacher that has lineage.
that brings everything full circle.
you can learn from a book,dvd, online but unless you are already a master and good already, you wont be contributing to the real spirit of wholeness that kung fu is built upon.

karate, tkd, kung fu.. ect...
I found lots of whole dvds to pirate.
those fools uploaded a map of their defenses to me for free!


yes fun fact is right - kung fu means Hard work translated.
Its an unbrella term used in anything you bust *** at and do it good. You have good kung fu if you work hard and do good.
Its full circle. the systems have different names,... those martial systems are geared towards self enlightenment or understanding usually. Not always, but usually... and if they dont know kung fu means work hard at anything and never give up, bounce from the ground back up higher than before,.... avoid them... I cant see a chinese system that calls itself kung fu not knowing this... even wushu players can have good kung fu,... but a good kung fu artist might not be the best wushu player at first... kinda weird...
you can pour tea with good kung fu...
you can clean and have kung fu that is connected directly with that. Its mental.. its philosophy.. not religion or spirituality... although some view it as such.. but i wouldnt dare tell them that..
and you should find out what it means to you... dont take my word that its just philosophy.. I dont wanna give you the wrong idea... so.. remember that...

Never settle with a half *** teacher...
never... its better to have no teacher than one that teaches you wrong... I can say from personal experience...
if you get hurt from the wrong teachings, it can harm you and ail you for life... something like a knee injury can happen quick.
Then again, you can hurt yourself by yourself alot quicker...
so... lesson is... practice, practice, practice...
I didnt get to where I can do a 720 cresent by not trying, but I didnt rush and twist my leg horribly..
Teachers provide a pace, and to see you from the outside... and to make sure you get it right....
Ive seen people without teachers... They tend to rush themselves in the fact they wont accept they cant do something,... cut a flip, and they just couldnt do it...
they got hurt... some landed and did ok...
Since you will have no qualified instruction, or person to watch and make sure the fine points are correct,... you will have to practice and train twice as many hours...

Im willing to help you if you send some video files on the computer... I wont train you forever... but I'll be willing to get your boat afloat, sails hoisted, chart plotted, and help you find a Master, but, if your really serious,... its a life long practice, and you will travel great distances for a good master.
You just cant not practice and still do a 720...
if I stop for a month... I run risk of not having control...
Just cause I know how to do it, doesnt mean I can actually do it..
If your just looking for fighting techniques alone... few in any martial art will work... it makes no sense not to be fit and be into martial arts... You just have to be strong to get the technique to work... even jiujitsu... I got a black belt in it.. you cant be lolly gaggin and not have a firm grip on the person...
Quality, not quanity... that is what kung fu is... hard work... gets quality results... plus a little more...
I cant show you our forms, but I'll show you basic body movements common in Northern Shaolin...
Unless you dont care about foot work and kicking and want southern style.. then I cant help you...
gday and gluck no matter where you go or how far or how long you go.. hopefully all the way...
its a way of life... you can keep busy from online stuff for about a year...then its time to start thinking about a life long teacher...
Or else it wouldnt be a way of life.. everyone MUST have a teacher... at some point... or we would have nothing and be dumber than a box of rocks. It took me 2 years to find my teacher... dont give up easy... we are few in the world... its a hard life... but well worth it..

just food for thought.... most sites wont tell you about most things, or will sell a book, or dvd...
Research the master on hte dvd before you buy it...
i bought one vhs that was a joke...
i didnt do the research... I didnt even watch it more than 5 mins it was so horrible and wrong... yet I saw reviews online that people liked practicing it, and those people were people who didnt have a master close...
TKD or karate is not a subsitute for Kung fu type martial arts...
Its exercise and martial arts,..... but its different...you dont use the basics of those in kung fu... a kung fu master will spend a year reprogramming bad habits before you advance much...
just a simple truth... I had lots of bad habits to untrain...
it was worth it...
How serious are you?

If you find some websites, Id love to see them, i have seen few that offer anything but basics and poor examples of those...
Beware of fakes in the KF world....

Don't bother. You can never learn martial arts online. You need to have someone who can see what you are doing and correct you if you do it wrong. Computers and the internet is pretty advanced these days, but even so, it's not going to be able to tell you if your stance is right.
If you want to learn kung fu, go to a real class. It's the only way.
