What is a good school (in Russia) to learn the Russian language?

We Answered:

Hey babe... check out this website...it contains MANY schools that teach the Russian language and the requirements and websites of them. You better start applying soon!

http://en.russia.edu.ru/edu/progr/prep/

I graduated Moscow State University with an engineering degree... before that, I had to attend a one year in the preparatory department to teach me the language, and then I went into the degree program. You will easily learn Russian fluently within one year being immersed and with classroom instruction.

Make many friends and don't speak English once you get there....think in Russian.

Clara Said:

I'd like to learn Russian is it a particularly hard language and where can I start?

We Answered:

I think you should talk to someone whose first language is Russian. And ask them to teach you the alphabet. I think it's really difficult to learn Russian simply from the internet. Ask a Russian friend and if you are still interested or have no Russian friend, meet up with a tutor.
I heard Rosetta Stone was really good. Try that program if you're really desperate. And yes, it is more difficult than French or German. Those languages might help you a little when you are learning Russian, but I think it is wise to just learn Russian first. When you do that, THOSE languages will be easier!

Jeanette Said:

What is the easiest way to learn a language? Russian....?

We Answered:

I learned Russian while I was in the Army. As a fluent German speaker, the language came easy for me as both have similar grammar rules and verb cases. The Cyrillic alphabet was easier to learn than expected.

It took us two weeks to learn the alphabet. Everything else came easy for me. We had to learn 30 new words every other day and had tests and quizzes every other day. The fast pace kept me from getting bored.

My best advice is to check out Rosetta Stone in Russian. It's the best language program these days and really gets into the speaking and grammar in a contemporary setting.

And, since you have friends who speak Russian, have them correct you...DON'T BE AFRAID TO MAKE A MISTAKE! You learn faster from mistakes you make and you are guaranteed never to make those mistakes again.
