Beside these I recommend you to join a Deaf club or take some ASL course in a Community College to get the grammar and the practice you'll need in order to communicate in the language.

Well, most places online want you to pay or take courses. But I did find American Sign Language (ASL) has an online dictionary where you can type in a word, and they show you someone signing the word.

Another option would be to just view the alphabet and numbers first, trying to copy them, then go through the alphabet looking for common words. You won't learn syntax this way, but it's a start.
