What is the best way to learn Spanish via computer?

We Answered:

I loved the Rocket Spanish program, Learning Spanish Like Crazy, and Visual Spanish, Shortcut To Spanish, and Synergy Spanish. I've used all these programs as they all teach using different methods and what I had trouble w/ in one program, I'd easily pick up in another. They are all inexpensive- reasonably priced. Rocket Spanish being my favorite.

I also purchased Think Spanish magazine which is EXPENSIVE but I really really got a lot out of it. I also bought a Spanish tabloid every so often at the grocery store and watch Spanish TV.

Another thing that helped me was FLASH CARDS!! At my age, flash cards are a great way to learn. I have the Vis-Ed set, and Spanish Piccards, and the Language Express cards. All EXCELLENT!

What I've learned in my experience is that not all of the "expensive" programs are the best. I spent about $70 or less on Rocket Spanish and it was AMAZING. It also all depends on your learning style. I've heard rave reviews of Rosetta Stone. I tried their online version and was nothing but confused as it did not match my personal learning style.

Also, I became VERY frustrated trying to learn Spanish the old fashioned way. I could careless about all the ins and outs of Spanish grammar. So, I geared my learning toward Spanish Conversation courses, which you "intuitively" pick up the grammar instead of focusing on the grammar.

Good luck to you!!!

what is the best way to learn spanish from home?

We Answered:

Hello,

That is great that you want to learn Spanish. First of all, there are various websites that you give you a stepping stone, where you could grasp the basic of the Spanish Language, and also culture.

I am recommending you trying Livemocha. It is very similar to Rosetta Stone. You could also try Pimsleur, its a bit slow, but from my perspective it is some what effective, it's cheaper than Rosetta Stone. I would suggest you try your local library because it could save you some money.
Teach yourself Spanish is quite good, it depends if you want to learn how to speak first or write, Teach Yourself have audio materials as well as books. I would suggest you trying amazon, because they have special offers. I think, they have new versions available so you will be up to date. Youtube is also good for key phrases.

Take care.
