catch a pokemon that can use dive. preferably something u can use as an HM slave. gyrados works. it can use strength, surf, waterfall ,dive, and even rock smash. pretty convenient.

i own red mystery myself dive is located in the solar
cave on the 10 floor a key is needed be sure 2 switch to your water pokemon so it can get the hm dive. good luck :)

My dad taught me by having me stand at the edge of the pool and lock my knees, then he put his arm straight across my shins and told me to bend at the waist, hands together over my head, and let myself fall into the pool.

As long as he's in good shape, he's not too old -sign him up for lessons/training and go for it. Our lab hates swimming - seriously she doesn't want to go in water deeper then she can walk. When it touches her belly she's out on dry land.

Not sure if you are too old. I have helped teach recreational divers that are in their 60s, and they go to 100+ feet all the time. As far as going to school. Yes you should go to a reputable commercial diving school. You won't get hired without the proper training. It's a difficult job in the best of conditions and much of the time you won't be in the best conditions. Here's a link for a few diving schools that may be able to help you out.
