Learn To Dj
Jerome Said:
How do you learn to DJ/ Mix?We Answered:
Going to lessons is a really bad idea. It's a waste of time and money. And it's no guarantee of success. People spend months or even years, practising for hours every day learning how to mix really well. It's not something that can really be taught - you have to learn how to do it for yourself.Get a pair of decks, a mixer, headphones, speakers and a ton of vinyl. Start mixing and learn how to beat match. You'll suck to start with, but you'll get better with time. You won't learn overnight but just keep at it. That's really all you need to know to get started. Everything else is down to you.

Trying to learn to DJ, and I am looking at buying some equipment? We Answered:
Good choice on the house music! It's probably the most straightforward genre of music to mix as well. I would definitely look into getting turntables or CD turntables. It makes adjusting the tempo of tracks more under your control. Beatmatching is where you should definitely start off with. In order for your mixes to sound smooth, you need to make sure your tracks are matched to the same tempo.
Technics are always a good choice for a turntable, but it may be pricy for some. So there are other alternatives out there, just make sure you get a direct-drive turntable and not a belt-drive.
CD turntables are great if you want to play music from your mp3's and not buy vinyl, but it doesnt beat the feel of 12" wax! trust me, once you mix with vinyl, you wont want to go back. but if finance is an issue, a controller might be your best bet. You'll find yourself wanting to upgrade to CD turntables or actual turntables once you get more experienced.

Hopefully you can find some more answers there.

Best way to learn to dj? decks and mixer or computer software? We Answered:
If you really want to learn, you're gonna have to use decks and a mixer... Computer software will beat match for you and you would never learn to do it yourself...
