We Answered:

My sister has the Down Syndrome and few months before we go back here in Riyadh, I brought her to speech therapies (there in Manila). You may try calling this clinic. Well, I couldn't refer to it as a school since they cater to children with special needs. People there are graduates of Occupational Therapy from Univ of Phil. and it was recommended by my sister's attending specialist (of child development from Capitol Medical Clinic).

A label provides the lazy man's out for the system. Once labelled, the student is faced with a never-ending series of self-fulfilling prophecies: don't teach Johnny to read 'cause Johnny can't read 'cause Johnny's retarded: he can't read! Furthermore, labels can be overly broad (ASD: Autisitc Spectrum Disorder, ranges from mild to very severe) overly generalized (strength of different individual cognitive domains is swept away by generic "moderately mentally retarded") and, finally, dual diagnosis confounds everything. Its hard to develop an INDIVIDUAL Education Plan with a label as the starting point.

I'm not really sure of any online support groups, but then again I've never looked for one. I'm sure they have something on yahoo groups if you look or if you search on the Internet.
I have a 10yr son whom was diagnosed at 4yrs. I'm also having my 4yr son tested in the fall, for he is showing similar symptoms.

Why not go online to study the options the Universities of Canada & America have to offer. I'm sure there will be online information of the type you are looking for. I think I would be looking further afield, to other countries such as the UK and Australia to see what they have to offer as well. Good luck.
