No accredited teaching school gives a bachelors degree in two years. It is a four year program. You study your core subjects such as English, Math, Science and Social Science. In addition you take Education Methods Courses, Child Psychology, Tests and Measurement courses, Technology in the Classroom Courses and you do observations much as you have outlined. Your final semester you teach full time in a school under the supervision of your college professors and an supervising teacher at the school. You assume all the regular teachers duties by the end of the semester.

Many qualified and ambitious high-school graduates do not fulfill their hopes and plans for higher education.

Statistics indicate that some of the contributing factors in colleges and universities are: too few classes to meet student demands; classes limited to too few registrants to accommodate students' needs; lack of convenient and/or affordable transportation; difficulties in meeting school expenses.

Students also complain that they become dissatisfied with teaching methods that are not compatible with their individual abilities and learning styles. Discouragement leads them to end their formal education.

I think that you have to do those "like-dislike" tests to get an accurate assessment. even thou they are pretty stupid I agree. they do it to match your personality with your job so that you will hopefully like your job... They do the same type of tests when they give you a psych test (when I was getting hired on with the sheriffs office had to take acouple of them in the hiring process and remember one of the questions was would you rather be a florist or artist...what the heck that has to do with being a police officer no clue... but the results matched my personality...

He is observing whether participating in that workshop has an impact on participants' study self-efficacy, group work preference, group climate, and assessment performance. Those are you dependent variables (the variables you measure).

There are a variety of instruments or protocols that assess learning styles. They are referred to as surveys, inventories, or assessments. Some are standardized (heavily tested and validated for accuracy), some are not. They are administered by paper, computer, or taken online.

Traditional learning styles are audio or visual. Other learning styles include tactile and kinestetic/motoric/spacial. Most of us are dominant in a mixture of styles, such as 80% kinestetic, 15% visual and 5% auditory. By identifying my learning style, I can teach myself as a student better by studying in the mode of my strongest style. I can also target my weak areas for improvement.

Not too surprisingly, students like teachers that teach in their learning style. For example, kinestetic students like hands-on classes. Visual learners like teachers that illustrate a lot. Auditory students like lectures. Conversely, visual learners hate lectures. Auditory students grow tired of looked and graphics and would rather be in a discussion. Kinestetic learners like experimentation.
