best way to learn linux install virtualbox. and then install any type of linux from its image virtually. then there is no problem of ur computer. no data will be lose. its install inside of your virtual box. and share ur windows ram and cpu as much as u wise. and it create a file .vdi which is linux's hdd.
and the last thing i tell u the total virtualbox run like avirtual computer u can delete it later.
