The violin is much more difficult. With the guitar you have frets to divide up the strings. With a violin there is no help for your left hand and small mistakes are magnified greatly.

With the guitar there is no bow - just your fingers. Violin students spend years just learning how to make a pleasing sound bowing just one note.

They More than likely will have books about drums for beginners all the way up to advanced. And even if you dont find anything, you can just teach yourself along the way like i did.
